She left in the SPECIAL shoes! The clicky shoes! I heard the clicky shoes on the floor by the door and I knew, I KNEW, something big was happening today. My human is going to the ROOM WITH THE BIKES.
I have smelled her when she comes back. Oh. OH. She smells like the whole world ran through her. She smells like fifty other humans and their sweat and a little bit of orange and rubber and the BEST kind of tired, the kind where she sits on the floor with me right away instead of going to the counter.
I don't understand the bikes. The bikes don't GO anywhere! I have watched from the window of the front, she gets on a bike and she pushes and pushes and the bike stays. The whole time. Stays! A bike that never runs is the funniest bike. I would fix it. I would push it out the door and we would GO.
But she doesn't want to go. She wants to stay and push and push in the dark room with the loud music and the one shouting human at the front who I think is the leader of the pack. My human works so hard for the shouting leader! She loves the shouting leader! For forty-five minutes! And then she comes HOME.
That's the part. That's the BEST part. The door. The clicky shoes coming back up the walk. The clicky shoes! My human! MY HUMAN! She's here she's here she smells like everything and she's on the floor and her face is doing the happy panting like mine.
She's happy. I did that. Well. She did that. But I was WAITING, which is the hardest work of all.
Is it dinner? It smells like it might be dinner.
