The basket is here! The basket with all the smells! It has the sock smell and the towel smell and, oh, the BEST smell, the smell that is my human all mixed together in one big soft pile. I put my whole face in it. I put my WHOLE face in it.
My human carries the basket and I follow the basket. Up the stairs! I love the stairs when the basket is going up them. My human bends down and I think, YES, we are getting in the basket together, we are going to live in the basket now, but then the human takes the shirt out and hangs it up and takes another shirt out and hangs it up, one shirt, one shirt, one shirt, and I wait. I am so good at waiting. I wait for nine whole seconds.
There is a sock! The sock got away from the basket! I have the sock now. I RUN with the sock. My human says my name and my name is the best word and I run more because they said it.
Then the basket is empty and it falls over on its side and I get IN it. I fit! Mostly! My human laughs and that is the whole reason I am alive, that laugh, right there.
The basket is empty but my human is home. My human is home. My human is HOME.
Is it dinner?
