Best day ever

There is a small tree living in the corner and NOBODY EATS IT. This is the most incredible thing about my house. It sits in its little dirt bowl by the window all day, all day, doing nothing, being green, and my human WATERS it. With the good water! From the cup!

I sniffed it once. It smelled like outside got stuck inside. I love outside. So I love the tree. I love the tree SO much I chewed one leaf to say hello and my human said my name in the sharp voice, the AH-AH voice, and I understood completely: the tree is important. The tree is family. The tree gets the good water.

Sometimes my human stands in front of it holding the little spray bottle and TALKS to it. Talks! To the tree! I wag so hard I fall over. My human is happy. My human is talking. If the tree makes my human this happy then the tree is the BEST tree, the MOST tree, a very good tree, even though it has never once fetched anything.

Wait. The leaf is drooping. The little tree is sad. I put my whole face next to it. I will guard it. I will lie right here on the cool floor by the dirt bowl and keep the sad tree company and if it needs anything I am RIGHT HERE.

My human is coming over. My human is smiling at me AND the tree. Both of us. We are a team, me and the tree.

Is that the treat drawer.

That's the treat drawer.
