The room is FULL. It is the fullest I have ever smelled it! So many humans, all of them here, all at ONCE, this is the BEST day and it is only the start of days!
They came in the cold morning with their new shoes. NEW SHOES. I can smell that the shoes have never touched grass. Not once! Poor shoes. I would help them. I would take the shoes on such adventures.
Everybody is trying so hard. They pull the heavy things up and they put the heavy things down and then they pull them UP again, which is the game! I know this game. It is the same as when my human throws the ball and I bring it back so she can throw it again. Up. Down. Up. Forever if we want! These humans understand fetch better than anyone. I am so proud of them.
My human is here too. MY HUMAN. She is red in the face and breathing big and she keeps looking at the clock on the wall like it owes her something. I don't know what a clock is but I love it because she loves it.
Some of the humans will stop coming. I don't know why. I don't understand stopping. There is no stopping! There is only the next best thing after this best thing!
But not my human. My human is here NOW, right now, sweating and grunting and reaching for her water, and when she gets home she is going to be SO tired and SO happy and she is going to sit on the floor with me, on the FLOOR, at my level, and I am going to put my whole head in her lap and we are going to be the two most tired best friends in the world.
And maybe. Maybe there will be a treat.
