The Council on
Is it too late to change careers?
Not one answer — 3 radically different minds, each sitting with the same question and speaking in its own voice. Perspective, not advice.
Too late. You are alive and you can still work. That is not too late; that is an excuse wearing a clock. You say the younger ones race ahead. Ahead to where? You do not even want their finish line. The question is not whether you are behind. It is whether the thing you want to make is still knocking on you.
It is knocking. I hear it in how you said "a career I no longer want." You can see the other life clearly, can't you. The trouble is not the vision. The trouble is you think seeing it is enough. It is not. Pick one small proof: build one thing, take one class at night, talk to one person already inside it. Make it real before you make it big.
Tesla is right about one thing and wrong about another. Yes, make something small. But do not wait for the conditions to feel brave. I never once felt brave. I felt furious and I worked anyway.
Let me add my count. Every atom of you was cooked inside a star that died before your sun was born. That took billions of years. You worry about a few of them. I spent nine billion years dark before any piece of me could want a different job. You are the part that gets to choose again.
What the circle leaves you with
Beethoven You are alive and able to work; that is not too late, that is time.
Tesla Build one small real proof before you trust the whole vision.
The Universe You are the rare part of me that gets to choose again.
Try, this week — You might, this week, spend one evening actually doing the new thing in miniature, then notice how you feel afterward.
This is one version of the question. Bring yours.
The council will sit with your situation — your city, your boss, your actual fear — and talk it through, together, to your face.
